About the role

We are currently seeking experienced candidates to join our team as Deckhands on a casual and full-time basis. This is your chance to create memorable guest experiences through exceptional guest service delivery and vessel operations.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of the vessels for transportation
  • Safe securing and departure of vessels
  • Safety and comfort of all guests
  • Conducting rescue and lookout duties
  • Assist with food service and daily cleaning duties
  • In-water rescue and lookout duties for guests
  • Ensuring high-quality service delivery

About you

The ideal candidate will be motivated and possess a passion for sharing special places and creating lasting memories. You will be a team player with a demonstrated positive 'can-do' attitude, comfortable working on water with extensive deckhand experience, and committed to delivering high-quality, professional guest service while proudly representing Cruise Whitsundays.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following attributes:

  • Reliability and self-motivation with a proactive approach, allowing you to adapt to various situations and ensure a positive guest experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Marine Operations, with demonstrated deck skills and a strong understanding of marine and tourism environments.
  • Intermediate to advanced swimming skills, along with the ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining high levels of marine safety and compliance, ensuring all training and certificates are up to date

  • Elements of Shipboard Safety or GPH
  • Blue Card/ Working with Children's Check
  • HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
  • HLTAID015 - CPR & Advanced Oxygen Therapy;
  • Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol
