Market Research – Observational Studies & Face-Face Interviewing – Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area

EY Studio+ is a fully integrated part of the EY Consulting business which offers research and strategy planning services to a wide range of businesses across Australia. We are a major player in the market research industry, with a client-centric, outcome driven approach. We provide recommendations to our clients based on market research data and the quality of this work has won some of Australia’s largest projects in the market research industry.
The opportunity
As a Market Researcher, you’ll be at the forefront of our data collection process. The program measures the quality and consistency of service providers with an observational mindset from a set list of criteria set by the client, as well as face to face interviews with the public with a short form survey. Interviews will be undertaken while in transit on our client’s services around the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
The collected data will be utilized to develop reports for client-centric strategic planning.
This market research project will run from mid-September to late October. Most shifts will start at 7:00 am; however, some shifts may start as early as 4:00 am or finish as late as 3:00 pm, with an average duration of 6 to 8 hours.
Applicants deemed potentially suitable will be invited to complete an interview. Successful applicants will be contacted for paid training at our Sydney office. Attendance is mandatory for the role. Those who perform well and have good availability may be offered work on other casual/ongoing projects.
Your key responsibilities
You will need to be comfortable working on the public transport network and confident in approaching people.
- Available at least three days per week, including weekends
- Available for shifts starting between 4:00 am and 7:00 am, or finishing up to 3:00 pm
- People of all backgrounds and ages
- Currently living in Greater Sydney
- Eligible to work in Australia
- Fluent spoken and written English, with strong grammar, punctuation and spelling
- Able to follow procedures accurately
- Strong interest in data collection and data integrity
- Adaptable across dynamic field research environments
- Punctual, respectful and professionally presented
- Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet across varied shifts
- Excellent communication with respondents, stakeholders and the EY Studio+ team
- Understanding of quality market research standards, including accuracy, consistency and integrity
- Market research experience is desirable but not essential
