Blacktown City is one of Australia’s fastest-growing communities, and our Communications and Marketing team helps keep residents and staff informed about the services, projects, events and developments shaping the city. As the Communications and Marketing Assistant, you support the delivery of communication and marketing activities that connect people with Council and the work we do.

You create and publish social media content, assist with advertising campaigns, prepare newsletters and promotional materials, update website content and support the production of corporate publications. You attend community and formal events, including Mayoral commitments, to help capture and share stories from across the city. You also coordinate advertising bookings, support Council’s branding and communications plans, and assist with day-to-day website and content management activities.

Your work helps residents learn about Council services, programs and events, encourages community participation, and keeps staff informed about what is happening across the organisation. You work closely with colleagues, suppliers, media representatives, sponsors and community stakeholders to deliver clear and effective communication outcomes.

You gain exposure to a broad range of communication and marketing channels while working with an experienced team. If you have a creative mindset, enjoy working with people and want to use your communication skills to make a positive contribution to your community, we would love to hear from you.
