Currently, there are around 5.5 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
QLD Service Delivery Branch is responsible for engaging with participants and managing participant plans and supports. Planning teams provide direct service delivery for NDIS participants; engaging with participants and managing participant plans and supports to ensure nationally consistent participant experiences aligned to the Participant Service Guarantee.
The APS4 Planner role is a team membership position that will work within defined parameters relating to the team’s area of responsibility. The role requires the application of well-established policy, principles, practices and procedures to achieve outcomes that support and contribute to NDIA’s objectives to ‘build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme’.
You will provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge in service delivery areas and undertake some research and analysis activities.
As an APS4 Planner you will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of service delivery matters to resolve moderately complex enquiries.

Duties of the Role may include:
- Gathering information from participants and planning partners over the phone or in person, to enable high-quality planning and evidence-based decision-making
- Using a range of policies, practice guidance and legislation to make funding decisions in relation to participant plans to complement informal, community and mainstream supports.
- Gather, assess and analyse information and supporting evidence
- Working closely with participants and their representatives to identify current and future supports, and informal, mainstream and community support options to achieve plan outcomes.
- Liaising with key stakeholders including Partners in the Community to deliver services to participants.
- Resolving issues and complaints in relation to participant plans.
- Completing administrative and data entry tasks relating to participants.
- Contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators, including planning targets.

As these roles are required to be performed from Beenleigh, Bundaberg, Caboolture, Cairns, Chermside, Hervey Bay, Inala, Ipswich, Mackay, Maroochydore, Mount Gravatt, Robina, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Townsville and Woodridge offices, remote working arrangements will not be considered.
Ongoing and non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
