About the role:
The Social Content Officer contributes to the development of high-quality creative content across Department of Health social media channels to support the social media strategy and the department's communication requirements.
This role will produce positive, innovative media assets for provision across social media platforms, in response to content briefs. They will create engaging and relevant content to extend storytelling and key messaging across channels; provide ideas and input into the social execution of departmental projects, and strive for best practice, creativity and connectivity within the department's social communities.
The Social Content Producer will work with the Social Media Team when receiving requests from Branch colleagues, Ministerial Offices and relevant business areas of the department, and will use creative content to share timely advice and announcements, as well as telling stories that demonstrate the benefits of government policies and initiatives. They will, with the direction of the Senior Social Media Content Producer, produce content that is clear, effective, tailored to social media and aligned to the department's strategic plan and digital strategy.
As appropriate, they may be also required to provide surge support to other policy portfolios to ensure effective media and communications services can be delivered during emergency, crisis and peak periods.

Qualifications / Specialist Expertise
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to communications, media or associated disciplines would be advantageous.
