Part-Time Medical Receptionist

About Us

Whiteman Edge Medical Centre is a general practice clinic committed to providing quality, patient-centred healthcare to our local community. We are seeking a friendly, organised and professional Part-Time Medical Receptionist to join our team and help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy GP clinic.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and positive experience. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a caring attitude and the ability to multitask in a busy medical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Answer incoming phone calls, respond to enquiries and manage appointment bookings.
• Register new patients and maintain accurate patient records.
• Manage patient check-ins, appointment confirmations and recalls.
• Process Medicare claims and private payments using the Best Practice Software.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy requirements.
• Liaise with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, referrals and medical documents.
• Assist with general administrative duties and maintain a tidy, organised reception area.
• Support the smooth daily operation of the medical centre.

About You

Previous medical reception experience and proficient in using Best Practice will be highly regarded.
