About this role:

Central Highlands Rural Health (CHRH) is currently offering an opportunity for an experienced HIM or Clinical Coder. The main duties will be to undertake timely and accurate clinical coding across our acute campuses - Kyneton, Daylesford and Creswick.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Coding using ICD-10-AM and ACHI 13th Edition to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Collaboration with relevant teams to ensure data accuracy
  • Create coding queries where appropriate to ensure accurate code assignment and clinical documentation in the medical record
  • Keep up to date with Australian Coding Standards, Coding queries database, and Department of Health (DoH) Funding Guidelines for health services
  • Ensure all statutory reporting deadlines for clinical coding are met as per the guidelines
  • Maintain clinical coding key performance indicators
  • Adherance to the Australian Code of Ethics for Clinical Coders
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Contribute to quality improvement, saftey, and compliance initiatives

Details of Appointment: Permanent part time position working 48 hours per fortnight

Salary: Dependent on experience
