Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
Position Classification: Sterilisation Technician Grade 2
Remuneration: $72,968.59 - $76,206.80 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job share may be considered for part time hours)
Location: Blacktown & Mt Druitt Hospitals

Join the Sterilising Services team across Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals, supporting clinical teams by ensuring reusable medical devices are safely and effectively reprocessed. You will work in a dynamic healthcare environment where quality, infection prevention and patient safety are at the heart of everything we do.

What you'll be doing
As a Sterilising Technician Level 2, you will undertake technical reprocessing duties with a high degree of competency and minimal supervision, ensuring medical devices are ready for safe use in patient care.

  • Clean, disinfect, inspect, test, pack, sterilise and distribute reusable medical devices

  • Perform complex reprocessing duties, prioritising scheduled and urgent work

  • Respond to Operating Theatre requirements and meet urgent processing deadlines

  • Perform routine testing of sterilising plant and equipment and follow safe work practices

  • Work in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, NSW Health requirements, infection control guidelines and departmental procedures

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications: Completed Sterilisation Services Certificate III


Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to work in busy environment keeping tight time frame

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment, solve problems, well-developed customer service, oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO / Australian Standards and Infection Control Guidelines

  • Demonstrated experience in processing loan and minimally invasive instruments

  • Able to work rotating roster including different locations
