At Coates, we're passionate about delivering safe, smart and sustainable equipment solutions. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and together, we make it happen.

The opportunity

We're looking for a highly motivated Regional Sales Manager to lead a high-performing sales team across the Perth and SouthWest region.

Based in Belmont, you'll lead a team of seven direct reports including Major Project Managers and Account Managers who are based across Belmont, Kwinana and Bunbury. It's a strategic, hands-on leadership role: you'll spend significant time in the field coaching your team, building executive-level customer relationships, uncovering new opportunities and driving a high-performance sales culture.

You'll play a key role in shaping regional sales strategy, growing customer share of wallet and delivering sustainable revenue growth across the construction, infrastructure, mining and industrial sectors.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and champion Coates' Safety-First culture across your team and customer network.
  • Shape and execute regional sales strategy to grow revenue and market share.
  • Coach, mentor and develop a team of sales professionals to achieve exceptional results.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key customers, stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Spend around 60% of your time in the field, driving customer engagement and sales activity.
  • Generate new business and maximise opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Spot and capitalise on major project opportunities across the region.
  • Use CRM insights, pipeline data and sales intelligence to lift team productivity, forecasting accuracy and performance.
  • Collaborate with Pricing, Marketing, Operations and Leadership teams to deliver winning customer solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities to support strategic growth.

What you'll bring to the role

You're a proven sales leader who thrives on developing people, building customer relationships and delivering commercial outcomes.

Your experience will include:

  • Proven success leading field-based sales teams in a B2B environment.
  • Experience selling into the construction, mining, infrastructure, industrial or related sectors.
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to coach, mentor and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strategic selling expertise with the ability to build, manage and convert sales pipelines, forecast effectively and deliver sustainable growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse data and pipeline insights, spot trends and translate them into compelling, actionable business outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience developing and executing business plans and account growth strategies.

What you'll get in return

We provide our team with a wide range of perks and benefits, including:

  • Development and career progression pathways
  • Company Benefit Vehicle
  • Flexible working options available—let’s discuss what works best for you
  • Access to our employee discounts, benefits and wellbeing program including Fitness Passport
  • Purchased additional leave program
  • Novated leasing and salary sacrifice
  • 12 weeks Paid Parental Leave in addition to government parental leave scheme
  • Volunteering opportunities through the Coates Foundation
