We are looking for a hands-on and creative Food Technologist to join our innovative product development team. In this role, you will support the creation and launch of new products, conducting trials, developing formulations, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.

This role is based on Hawthorne Street, Beresfield, NSW 2322.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise across our portfolio, developing new products identifying efficiency improvements, managing cost down projects and identifying commercial opportunities food standards and external quality standards & processes are adhered to when commercialising new products.
• Take customer concepts through to launch, including identifying manufacturing capability, formulating products, scale up, validation of processes and troubleshooting of issues.
• Translate customer briefs into commercially viable manufacturing solutions.
• Provide leadership on technical aspects of projects; including all approval steps, documentation, risk identification and project timelines.
• Evaluate raw materials, functional ingredients and packaging for suitability and quality for use in new and/or existing products and processes.
• Preparation of trials (including product formulations) and the collection and processing of data (including Sensory evaluations) to ultimately develop the product, specifications and recommendations.
• Maintain a strong factory presence during development and commercialisation activities.
• Assist in the process of conducting shelf life and nutritional testing on new products.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, procurement, Commercial and Customer teams.
• Proactively build relationships with team members in the product development team, across other business functions (Marketing, Quality, Operations, Procurement and Commercial) and with external vendors.

Required Skills:

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
• Experience in food manufacturing or product development (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum 2-3 years in a Product Development role or in a similar field
• Enthusiastic and eager to contribute to a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong understanding of food processing, safety standards & regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in MS office & product development software or databases.
• Ability to manage time & multiple tasks efficiently to deliver results within tight timeframes.
