About the work unit / facility
The Medical Imaging Service at Townsville Hospital and Health Service provides 24/7 access to a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services. As a key component of a tertiary-level health service, the department supports critical care areas, clinical units, and surrounding facilities across the region.
Operating in a fully digital environment, the service is committed to high-quality patient outcomes, strong collaboration with clinical teams, and ongoing service integration. The department also supports professional development through education, training opportunities, and clinical placements.

About your opportunity
In this role, you will provide essential support to Radiologists, Radiographers, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Sonographers and Nursing staff in delivering high-quality Medical Imaging services to patients at Townsville University Hospital.
Working under the direction of medical imaging professionals, you will assist with a range of clinical support and operational tasks to ensure the smooth flow of patients through the service. This includes preparing patients for procedures, escorting patients to and from examination areas, and assisting with equipment set-up.
There are no mandatory qualifications for this role; however, an AQF Certificate in "Allied Health Assistant", or a willingness to undertake and complete would be highly desirable.
