Join the expert Medical Physics team at Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre, Westmead Hospital, with opportunities to work across the Blacktown Cancer & Haematology Centre. You'll be part of one of Australia's largest Radiation Oncology services, working alongside highly skilled Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists and Medical Physicists dedicated to improving outcomes for patients across Western Sydney. What you'll be doing
As a Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist, you'll deliver safe, high-quality medical physics services that support exceptional patient care while helping shape the future of radiation oncology.
You will:
-
Commission, quality assure and maintain radiotherapy equipment, treatment planning systems and imaging technologies
-
Support advanced treatment techniques including IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, brachytherapy, respiratory gating and Total Body Irradiation
-
Lead and implement innovative technologies and clinical improvements within multidisciplinary teams
-
Provide expert physics advice, mentor Medical Physics Registrars and contribute to research, education and continuous quality improvement
-
Act as a radiation safety expert while ensuring compliance with ARPANSA standards and ACPSEM professional practice

Essential requirements:

Qualification: Master’s degree majoring in Physics from an Australia or New Zealand tertiary institution or a tertiary institution approved by the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR).

Registration: Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) Certification in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics or in Radiotherapy Equipment Commissioning and Quality Assurance.

Licence: Holds or eligible to hold a current NSW EPA licence to use ionising radiation apparatus and radioactive substances
Selection Criteria:
-
Demonstrate ability to work with little or no supervision in all areas of Radiation Oncology physics.
-
Demonstrate skills in experimental clinical work, data analysis or scientific computing, research and education.
-
Demonstrate a track record in commissioning, implementing and supporting radiation oncology technology, and advanced treatment planning and delivery techniques.
-
Evidence of oral and written communication skills, and ability to work effectively in both multi-disciplinary teams and independently.
-
Expertise with our local clinical systems such as Truebeam, Aria, Eclipse, Oncentra, Brainlab Elements, ExacTrac, Gulmay, MIM and Velocity is favourable but not essential.
