What you'll be doing
You'll provide practical, hands-on support to the Medical Imaging Department under the supervision and direction of a Radiographer. Your reliability, communication skills and attention to detail will help keep patients and the department moving safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with patient transfers, lifts and positioning, including the safe use of wheelchairs and manual handling equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain imaging areas by cleaning equipment, tidying rooms and restocking essential supplies.
  • Support departmental administration, including documentation and accurate data entry into the Radiology Information System (RIS) and other systems.
  • Communicate respectfully and confidentially with patients, support people and healthcare teams, escalating relevant changes or concerns to the Radiographer.
  • Manage competing priorities, follow delegated tasks within your scope of practice and maintain a strong focus on safety, infection control and patient experience.

Qualifications are recognised within the Allied Health Assistant classification, with salary level determined by your relevant qualifications and experience:
  • Level 1 – No Qualifications.
  • Level 2 – Completion of 12 or more months' service as an Allied Health Assistant Level 1 or Certificate III, or other qualification deemed equivalent, or successfully assessed as possessing competencies required for Cert III by way of RPL.
  • Level 3 –Certificate IV qualification or other qualification deemed equivalent or successfully assessed as possessing competencies required for Cert IV by way of RPL.

Qualifications:
  • Level 2 – Completion of 12 or more months' service as an Allied Health Assistant Level 1 or Certificate III, or other qualification deemed equivalent, or successfully assessed as possessing competencies required for Cert III by way of RPL.
  • Level 3 –Certificate IV qualification or other qualification deemed equivalent or successfully assessed as possessing competencies required for Cert IV by way of RPL.

Selection Criteria:
  • Knowledge or experience of working within a healthcare setting.
  • Basic understanding of radiation safety principles.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Radiographer.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles.
  • Ability to perform shift work with a demonstrated high degree of reliability and punctuality.
