About the role
Eastern Health Emergency Department is a mixed adult and paediatric service, offering exposure to a broad range of clinical presentations across all levels of acuity and complexity. As the major referral service within Eastern Health, it is supported by a comprehensive range of on-site specialty services.
We are looking for enthusiastic Emergency Medicine Specialists who will:
Provide clinical care, supervision, and departmental oversight to support the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and safe patient care.
Contribute to a collaborative and cohesive department culture, supporting initiatives that create a positive and rewarding environment for all staff.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Current Specialist Registration with AHPRA
Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM), or Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) with relevant experience in Emergency Medicine, or equivalent qualifications that support recognition as a Specialist Emergency Physician.
Recognition by Medicare as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine.
A commitment to continuing professional development and participation in relevant college continuing education programs, particularly those related to Emergency Medicine.
Demonstrated experience in the teaching and supervision of medical students, interns, HMOs, and registrars.
Experience in the education and development of other clinical staff, including nursing and allied health professionals.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
