Senior Medical Receptionist

Victoria Tower Medical is looking for 2 experienced and professional Senior Medical Receptionists to join our busy practice and take a leading role in our front desk operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced medical receptionist who is confident with Best Practice, Medicare billing and WorkCover claims and enjoys working in a busy, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Front Desk Leadership

• Oversee day-to-day reception operations
• Ensure smooth patient flow and appointment management
• Assist with escalated patient enquiries in a professional and respectful manner
• Support and guide the reception team

Best Practice Management

• Advanced use of Best Practice software
• Appointment scheduling, recalls and patient management
• Patient billing and account management
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records

Billing & Claims

• Medicare billing, including bulk billing and private billing
• DVA billing
• WorkCover and third-party claims processing

Administrative Duties

• Managing correspondence and clinical documentation
• Liaising with doctors, allied health professionals and external providers
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with privacy requirements
• Assisting the Practice Manager with reporting and administrative tasks

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in medical reception
• Strong experience using Best Practice software
• Good understanding of Medicare billing
• Experience processing WorkCover claims
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy environment
• Professional and friendly manner

Desirable

• Experience working in a busy general practice
• Previous senior reception or team leadership experience
