What you'll do

As the Assistant Policy Officer, you will provide high-level administrative, project and policy support to contribute to the effective delivery of medical workforce initiatives across Queensland Health. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will apply sound judgement, problem-solving skills and attention to detail to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. In this role, you will lead the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Medi-Nav medical careers website, support the management and analysis of medical workforce planning data sets and Power BI dashboards, and contribute to the review of policies, processes and systems. You will implement and monitor efficient administrative processes, ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards, and support the effective operation of the Branch through sound financial, quality and governance practices. Working collaboratively across teams, you will build productive relationships and contribute to outcomes that align with Queensland Health's strategic goals and objectives.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:
Well-developed administrative, project management and coordination skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
Highly developed organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team to set priorities and achieve results in an environment of high volumes and tight deadlines.
High level oral and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and liaise effectively with a diverse range of internal and external groups and stakeholders, the ability to prepare reports, data sets and presentations.
Skills in the use of information technology, including e-mail, website content management systems (e.g. Squiz Matrix publishing), Microsoft Word, Excel (advanced skills), PowerPoint and Power BI.
