Medical Receptionist – General Practice

Schotters Road Medical Centre | Mernda, VIC

Schotters Road Medical Centre is seeking an experienced, friendly and professional Medical Receptionist to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and provide excellent customer service
  • Manage appointments, phone calls and patient enquiries
  • Process Medicare billing and patient payments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and details
  • Manage correspondence, referrals and documentation
  • Support GPs, nurses and allied health professionals
  • Assist with recalls, reminders and patient follow-ups
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Support smooth day-to-day practice operations

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in general practice or medical reception
  • Good understanding of Medicare billing and commonly used MBS billing codes
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Professional, reliable and well presented
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a busy general practice
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude

Experience with Best Practice and HotDoc will be highly regarded.
