HelloDR Blackstone is a busy, welcoming medical centre at 1/12 Hill Street, Blackstone, in the heart of Ipswich, open 7 days a week. It is a modern, purpose-built medical centre delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to the Ipswich community. Under one roof we bring together general practice, allied health, onsite Mater Pathology and Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) services - with dental, radiology and cosmetic services coming soon. Backed by the RNMC group, we're a growing, community-focused, bulk-billing-friendly practice.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and proactive Medical Receptionist to join our team.

As the first point of contact, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming patient experience while supporting the day-to-day operations of the clinic.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process Medicare, bulk billing and private payments accurately
  • Manage patient records and appointment scheduling using our clinic software
  • Liaise between patients, GPs, nurses and allied health staff to keep the day running smoothly
  • Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out for a busy, multi-service clinic

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is passionate about patient care and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in medical reception or a similar customer service role
  • Knowledge of Best Practice software (highly regarded)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
  • Professional presentation and a patient-focused attitude
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office systems
  • Key requirement: flexibility to work closing shifts and weekends as part of our extended 7-day roster
