We also have a thriving adult clinic – the Northern Sydney Psychology Clinic & Western Sydney Psychology Practice. About the role

We are looking for a Senior Medical Receptionist to join our busy and vibrant psychology practice located in North Parramatta.

You will be the first point of contact for members of the community. You will be attending to a high volume of calls and inquiries and provide general administrative support.

This is currently a casual position. Days of work required are at least 2, but this is flexible and could be more. This will depend on your fit with the practice and its needs.

The primary responsibilities of the role include:

• Being a helpful and positive person in our reception area and on the phone with persons who might be struggling.
• Attending to inquiries via phone, email, and face to face.
• Booking in new clients via a careful match system and intake script.
• Administrative / office duties such as invoicing, reconciling payments, managing appointment books, processing Medicare claims.
• Managing the intake process and waitlist.

The candidate

We are looking for a compassionate and self-motivated individual to join our practice. They must be highly professional, with great attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility. Experience in a psychology practice and studying/ completed a degree in psychology will be highly regarded. Pay will be commensurate with your relevant experience and abilities.

Essential criteria:

• Excellent communication skills. Must be empathetic and warm when speaking to members of the community.
• Proactive and able to work independently.
• Great attention to detail and is highly organised.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing demands.
• Strong work ethic and able to handle sensitive information according to guidelines.
• Experience with technology and practice management software.
• Competent in using Windows office programs (Word and Excel).
