Medical Receptionist – Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice while delivering excellent patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone in a courteous and professional manner
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments efficiently
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update personal and financial information
  • Ensure appointments run on time by coordinating with healthcare providers and managing delays
  • Respond to patient enquiries and direct them appropriately
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organised reception area
  • File, retrieve, and manage medical records securely
  • Handle billing, accounts, and general administrative duties
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment, arranging orders and repairs as needed
  • Provide support to patients in distress or emergency situations
  • Uphold strict confidentiality of patient information at all times
  • Follow practice policies and procedures, contributing to continuous improvement
  • Work collaboratively with the team to support daily operations
