Work Hours: This position is a shift work position and requires the successful applicant to work after hours and weekend shifts.

Where you'll be working
Join the Health Information & Records Service (HIRS) at Westmead Hospital, one of NSW's leading tertiary hospitals within Western Sydney Local Health District. You'll become part of a collaborative, high-performing team dedicated to delivering accurate, timely and compliant health information services that support patients, clinicians and external stakeholders.

What you'll be doing
As a Health Information and Record Release Officer, you will manage a diverse portfolio of Release of Information (ROI) requests while ensuring compliance with NSW Health legislation, privacy requirements and organisational policies. Your ability to prioritise competing demands, communicate effectively and maintain exceptional attention to detail will be key to your success.
- Process and coordinate Release of Information requests from patients, hospitals, legal representatives, police, courts, insurers, the NSW Coroner and other authorised agencies
- Review, analyse and extract accurate information from electronic and paper-based health records in accordance with legislative and privacy requirements
- Liaise with clinicians, hospital staff, patients and external stakeholders to ensure requests are completed accurately and within required timeframes
- Maintain electronic tracking systems, record all actions in corporate record management systems and monitor outstanding requests to meet key performance indicators
- Provide support across the Release of Information team and contribute to efficient service delivery across Western Sydney Local Health District sites as required
