What you'll be doing
As a Health Information and Records Service Officer, you'll ensure patient information is accurately managed and readily available to support clinical care. You'll be responsible for digitising, maintaining and tracking healthcare records while meeting quality, productivity and confidentiality standards.

  • Digitise paper and electronic clinical documents by preparing, scanning, validating and uploading records to the electronic medical record (eMR).
  • Manage hybrid health records through retrieval, tracking, filing, storage and secure destruction in line with legislation and policy.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of patient records while achieving quality and productivity targets.
  • Liaise with clinical and non-clinical teams to retrieve records and support patient care, clinical coding and research activities.
  • Deliver responsive customer service, contribute to team operations and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Experience in an administrative position and/or knowledge and experience in health administrative functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise your workload so that you are able to meet deadlines.
  • Proven attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors.
  • Developed computer skills and/or experience with document imaging, patient administrations systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent customer service skills with sound oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a productive team member and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Demonstrated understanding of privacy and confidentiality principles and how they are applied in the hospital setting.
