About the Role
Monash Biochemistry Laboratory is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Medical Laboratory Scientists to join our dynamic and highly skilled team. Multiple positions are available, with consideration given to both full-time and part-time appointments.
As a 24/7 diagnostic laboratory, we provide routine and acute biochemistry testing services that support patient care across a diverse clinical setting. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with a broad range of analytical platforms and specialised testing services in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic testing, including:
Routine and urgent biochemistry testing
Quality assurance and quality control activities
Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
Result validation and interpretation
Participation in a rotating roster, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays as required
Specialised testing, including protein electrophoresis and mass spectrometry (where applicable)
Essential Criteria:
Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification recognised by AIMS or the AACB.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working under pressure.
Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to providing a high-quality diagnostic service.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience working in a diagnostic Biochemistry laboratory.
Experience performing and interpreting serum and urine protein electrophoresis.
Experience in mass spectrometry, including method development, validation and troubleshooting.
Experience working within a NATA-accredited laboratory environment.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems and automated chemistry analysers.
