Full job description

The purpose of this role is to perform complex and highly specialised diagnostic and therapeutic testing within a statewide tertiary referral Chemical Pathology Laboratory, applying scientific expertise and clinical judgement to support patient diagnosis, treatment and monitoring.

What you'll do

In this role you will perform specialised chemical pathology testing, review and validate analytical results, contribute to clinical interpretation activities, investigate analytical and technical issues, utilise advanced laboratory technologies including mass spectrometry and chromatography platforms, participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities, supervise less experienced staff, collaborate with clinical and scientific stakeholders, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality statewide pathology services.

About you

We are searching for someone who:
Holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification
Has knowledge of chemical pathology and its application in clinical medicine
Has experience or demonstrated capability in analytical laboratory techniques
Can apply scientific judgement to the validation and interpretation of results
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is committed to quality, patient safety and continuous improvement
