About the Role

Canterbury Hospital is committed to providing high quality healthcare services to our local community, focused on patient and family-centred care. Since opening in 1929 our hospital continues to grow to meet the changing needs of our community and incorporate new models of care.


The purpose of this role is to provide a high standard of administrative support and customer service to the Canterbury Hospital Outpatient Department. This role provides support to a variety of clinics within the Outpatient Department with both front-line and back-office components, with a focus on delivering SLHD’s commitment to Patient and Family centred Care.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience providing phone and face-to-face customer service in a high-volume client setting with superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in using an extensive client database registration system preferably in a health/medical setting.
  • Experience working within a team to meet high-volume customer related enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Experience dealing with customers/clients/patients from diverse backgrounds especially understanding the needs of CALD clients.
  • Understanding of Medical Billing requirements
