Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital
We are seeking an interested registered nurse to work in the Emergency Department.
Are you a nurse that has an interest in Ophthalmology, hands or emergency nursing. Then the SSEH Emergency Department is the place for you.

The Role
As a Registered Nurse in SESLHD, you will be an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in the provision of person-centred care; and leading, supporting and supervising other nurses/ midwives and care roles. Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital is steeped in history, with a legacy of nursing and medical firsts to its credit and has paved the way in many clinical areas - both nationally and internationally.
Sydney Hospital is Australia's first hospital and dates from the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.
Today, Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospitals’ state of the art facilities and professional staff provide a unique blend of general and specialist medical services for the public and community, including a 24 hour emergency services, general medicine including close observation unit, perioperative services, specialist hand and eye surgery.

Selection Criteria
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible:
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse that applies to emergency or acute care clinical setting
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and be able to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Current computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement person-centred practice.
- Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload.
