Provide a range of administrative and clerical support services to enable the Surgical Bookings department to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner.

As well as:

  • Ensure that the waiting time and elective surgery policy is adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that timely and accurate maintenance of the elective surgery waiting lists in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MoH) Waiting Time and Elective Surgery Policy.
  • Provide accurate information/statistics to hospital and Department of Health information systems (iPM & Waiting List Collection On-Line System (WLCOS)).
  • Provide an effective, accurate and efficient quality admission booking service.
  • Ensure all clerical procedures are completed in accordance with LHD policy and procedures.
  • Provide leave relief and assistance to Surgical Booking Clerks.

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
