About the role

A MH Commander within the West Moreton Health Service (WMH) is a registered nurse who is accountable for an advanced level of practice. This role supports the delivery of services by ensuring the coordination of patient centred clinical practice, participating in the provision of skilled nursing care and supporting the multidisciplinary team to meet performance, safety and clinical governance standards.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

Demonstrated expert level of clinical knowledge, expertise, and skills in contemporary mental health nursing to allow for autonomous practice and the provision of authoritative advice within a multidisciplinary/multi-specialist team and to primary mental health care providers regarding service delivery, clinical assessments and care planning across the continuum, risk management, and mental health legislation.
Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within teams, with consumers and their families and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Possesses advanced clinical leadership qualities recognised at service level to assess, guide, and contribute to implementation of innovative and evidence based clinical practices.

Mandatory Requirements:

Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
