Full job description

We are seeking a calm, patient, and emotionally mature female Support Worker to support an Australian female participant living in the Inala area.

The participant has a psychosocial disability background and requires consistent, respectful, and person-centred support in the community. This role is best suited to someone who is confident working with mental health clients and understands the importance of boundaries, neutrality, and emotional regulation.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1:1 community access support
  • Assistance with appointments and daily activities
  • Support with property inspections and housing-related tasks
  • Emotional support and reassurance during community activities
  • Encouraging independence while maintaining safety and dignity
  • Clear communication and accurate shift notes

About the Participant (for suitability)

  • Australian female
  • Mental health support needs
  • Values routine, clear communication, and consistency
  • May become emotionally distressed if plans change or expectations are not met
  • No history of violent behaviour
  • Responds best to calm, neutral, and non-confrontational support

Essential Requirements

  • Female Support Worker (client preference)
  • Experience supporting clients with mental health or psychosocial disabilities
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally regulated approach
  • Good communication skills (clear English required)
  • Ability to remain professional during emotional situations
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Valid driver’s licence & reliable vehicle
  • Ability to write clear and professional case notes

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Mental Health, or equivalent)
  • Experience with community access and housing-related supports
  • Familiarity with Inala / Brisbane South-West area
