Odyssey House NSW’s trauma-informed services set us apart as a leader in the support service space for alcohol and other drugs dependency. Our teams help clients to meet their goals and address underlying trauma and mental health issues, while also developing new skills to improve all aspects of their lives.
We provide a diverse range of services to individuals, families and community education. Our services include withdrawal services; one-on-one assessment and treatment by psychologists and counsellors; group therapy; residential rehabilitation; and free education at Odyssey College.

Description:
Community Living Supports (CLS) is a state-wide psychosocial support program for people with complex mental health needs, with the focus on supporting consumers to live well in their community with choice, dignity and self-determination. CLS works alongside consumers to build on their strengths and aspirations, offering practical support that promotes recovery, confidence, independence and connection to community.
The CLS Mental Health Support Worker delivers flexible, person‑led support in line with the consumer’s Individual Service Plan, collaborating with their chosen supports (including LHDs and community services) to ensure coordinated and culturally respectful care. Support is reviewed and adjusted as needs and recovery goals evolve, with family or carers involved, where consent is given.
Skills and Experiences:
Relevant VET qualification or tertiary qualification in relevant field and professional registration where relevant.
Experience supporting persons with mental health support needs and/or co-existing support needs.
Demonstrated capacity to engage with and mentor people to work towards their recovery goals in a structured and planned way
Demonstrated capacity to engage with and mentor people living with mental health challenges and or coexisting support needs to work towards their recovery goals in a structured and planned way
Strong organisational, time management and planning skills, with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while displaying a high level of attention to detail and maintaining a calm and respectful manner
Ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously or as part of a multidisciplinary team; work efficiently and effectively and be flexible to the changing needs of the work environment
The ability to regulate emotions, remain calm and be emotionally resilient while interacting and supporting clients with high levels of emotion and at time emotionally disturbing conversations.
Essential
Hold or have the ability to obtain a Criminal History Check and Working With Children clearance for paid employment.
Current NSW Driver's License.
Unlimited right to live and work in Australia.
COVID Vaccinated.
