This position specialises in supporting adults with a psychosocial disability who have NDIS plans.

  • Employment Type: Permanent Part-time (a minimum of 3 days per week required). Opportunities to increase to full time based on service demands.

The Position:

As a Support Worker with HelpingMinds, you’ll play a vital role in empowering participants to achieve greater independence, confidence, and control over their lives—helping them reach the goals outlined in their individualised NDIS plans.

What could supports look like?

  • Supporting participants with day-to-day tasks in and around the home
  • Assisting with navigating public transport safely and confidently
  • Helping develop essential life skills, including time management
  • Encouraging social inclusion by building friendships and community connections
  • Supporting job searching and workplace engagement activities
  • Work both autonomously in a community outreach environment, and collaboratively within a team environment to deliver high quality psychosocial supports.

This is a community-based outreach role, which means you’ll be working directly in participants’ homes and out in the community, including providing transport and accompanying them to various appointments, activities, and social events.

  • Shifts: Regular shifts are at the same time each week, in various locations around Perth. You must have 3 days a week available. Weekend and evening work are not available.
  • Requirements: While relevant experience is preferred, it is not mandatory as full training will be provided. This position requires note taking and documentation, experience with Microsoft and databases is required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proof of Australian Working Rights
  • Current Drivers License & Motor Vehicle Insurance
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health/Community Services

Successful applicants must have the following or be willing to obtain prior to commencement:

  • NDIS Worker Screen Clearance
  • Working With Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate

Remuneration:

  • $0.99 per km for required travel in your own vehicle during work hours
  • $37.66 to $38.84 per hour for permanent part and full time (depending on experience)
  • $37.66 to $38.84 per hour plus 25% casual loading for casual (depending on experience)
  • Generous superannuation
    • Starting at an additional 1% above superannuation guarantee. Employer superannuation contribution increases based on length of employment in accordance with the HelpingMinds Staff Agreement.

  • Salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 to increase your take-home pay
  • 5 weeks annual leave p.a., increasing to 6 weeks after 3 years of service
