About the Role


The BHP Olympic Dam Mining Operations Team is coming to Adelaide on the Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th of July 2026.

If you are based in Adelaide or regional South Australia and have at least two years of work experience in any industry, we encourage you to apply.

No prior mining experience is required—just a strong drive and a safety-first mindset to build a rewarding career in underground mining.

As an Entry-Level Underground Miner, you will gain hands-on experience in:


  • Operating large mining equipment, including trucks, loaders, and integrated tool carriers (ITs)
  • Installing and maintaining critical infrastructure that supports underground operations
  • Working alongside drills and other heavy machinery
  • Operating safely in dynamic environments, including working at heights
  • Support mining operations
  • Roster is 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off, rotating 12-hour shifts at Roxby Downs
  • Important Considerations: Some roles involve physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling.

About You


  • Minimum 2+ years’ work experience in any industry
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a manual vehicle prior to joining BHP
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Team player with a safety-first mindset
  • Ability to adapt to shift work and time away from home
  • Experience in industries such as civil construction, agriculture, meat process, industrial, warehousing, disability support, aged care, or health services is highly regarded but not essential
