The Team Leader for Weather, Marine and Climate Models will lead a high-performing team responsible for operational software development and transitioning research to operations across numerical prediction models. This role ensures resilient operations, drives continuous improvement and maximises the impact and value of modelling systems for Bureau weather, marine and climate services.

You will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for model development and operational systems.
  • Manage pre-operational trials, performance monitoring, and lifecycle management of modelling systems.
  • Foster collaboration across internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely and efficient processes.
  • Champion continuous improvement through test driven development and by integrating cutting-edge science and technology into operational frameworks.
