Job Summary
IIQAF Group is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and patient-focused Aged Care Worker to join our healthcare team in Sydney. The successful candidate will provide high-quality personal care, daily living support, companionship, and assistance to elderly residents and clients while promoting their dignity, independence, safety, and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and respectful aged care and personal care to elderly clients and residents.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, walking, positioning, and the safe use of mobility aids.
- Assist with meals, feeding, hydration, and monitoring dietary requirements as directed.
- Provide companionship and emotional support while encouraging social interaction and independence.
- Follow individual care plans and provide support according to each client's specific needs and preferences.
- Encourage clients to participate in appropriate activities that support independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, falls, or changes in client condition and report them promptly.
- Communicate professionally with clients, families, nurses, healthcare professionals, and other care team members.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and safe manual handling practices.
- Participate in care team meetings, training, and continuous improvement activities when required.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability), Certificate IV in Ageing Support, or an equivalent relevant qualification is preferred.
- Previous experience as an Aged Care Worker, Personal Care Assistant, Personal Care Worker, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Aged Care Support Worker, or Residential Care Worker is preferred.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Ability to work effectively with nurses, healthcare professionals, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Physically capable of assisting clients with mobility and performing manual handling tasks safely.
- Strong observation, documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, evenings, nights, and public holidays when required.
