About the Role

As Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a major transport infrastructure project valued at over $500 million in Sydney. Working within a collaborative Design & Construct environment, you will lead the development, coordination and assurance of multidisciplinary design solutions from tender through to project completion. Partnering closely with our construction, commercial and project leadership teams, you will drive design excellence, manage key consultant and stakeholder relationships, and ensure design outcomes are safe, compliant, buildable and aligned with project objectives. This role provides the opportunity to influence project strategy, champion innovation and leave a lasting legacy on one of Sydney's most significant infrastructure upgrades.

Key responsibilities:

Lead design delivery across a major transport infrastructure project from tender to completion.
Manage Design Management Plans, governance frameworks and design processes.
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and design consultants.
Drive design integration, constructability, compliance and value engineering outcomes.
Build strong relationships with clients, designers, authorities and key stakeholders.
Manage design risks, changes and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with construction and commercial teams to achieve project objectives.
Champion Safety in Design principles and technical excellence.
Lead design reviews, approvals and stakeholder engagement activities.
Mentor engineers and contribute to a high-performing project team.

About You

You will possess:

Civil Engineering degree and CPEng (or equivalent).
Tier 1 or Tier 2 D&C infrastructure project experience.
Proven success delivering major road, rail or transport projects.
Strong leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Experience managing consultants, approvals and stakeholder interfaces.
Sound commercial acumen and risk management capability.
Knowledge of BIM and digital engineering environments.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
