We're looking for an experienced National Operations Manager to join our team on a permanent full-time basis, based at our Gold Coast Head Office. In this senior leadership role, you'll lead Viva Leisure's corporate World Gym network, currently comprising Underwood, Coomera and Stafford, with an exciting new flagship facility opening in Canberra. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of a growing premium brand, driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and sustainable growth across the network.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that requires regular travel across the network. Approximately four days per week will be spent supporting and leading operations across the three Queensland clubs, with travel to Canberra approximately once per month to provide on-site leadership and support to the flagship facility.

Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, you'll lead strategic initiatives that strengthen business performance, optimise operations, and deliver exceptional member experiences. You'll inspire high-performing teams, champion a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, and ensure every facility consistently operates to the highest standards of service, quality, and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the World Gym network, driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and an exceptional member experience.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficient club operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support club openings, enhance the fitness offering, and oversee national retail operations.
• Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, cost management, revenue growth, and strategic planning.
• Partner with the Marketing team to strengthen brand presence and support business growth initiatives.
• Lead, develop, and support high-performing teams through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, workforce planning, and succession planning.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and compliance with Workplace Health & Safety standards, company policies, and procedures.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a complex and growing business environment, with a strong track record of delivering measurable results.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies that drive performance and growth.
• Strong project management capabilities, with end-to-end experience in initiating, executing, and delivering projects that achieve defined outcomes.
• Effective people leadership skills, including the ability to coach, mentor, and develop individuals and teams to reach their full potential.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
• Strategic thinking and execution capabilities, with experience supporting senior leadership in driving change and delivering key business initiatives.
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to inspire, consult, and partner with others to achieve shared goals.
• Ability to translate business and end-user needs into actionable plans, particularly when working with technical or cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience in retail and/or retail sales is desirable.
• A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle, with the flexibility to travel as required.
