Are you passionate about designing high quality telecommunications networks and contributing to critical national infrastructure? We’re hiring experienced Network Design Engineers to join our Core Networks team.
These roles will join an expert team based in a secure, state of the art facility in Parramatta. This is an on-site role Monday-Friday, and cannot be offered to work from home/remote.

About the role: You will be responsible for developing detailed network designs, engineering documentation, and technical artefacts that enable seamless delivery across a range of transport platforms. You will help shape the future of our fibre, microwave radio, DWDM, SDH, and Ethernet networks, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and high performance.
As a Network Design Engineer, you will:
  • Design network elements, links, and services across Core and Access Transport Platforms.
  • Produce detailed design packages including drawings, scopes of work, bills of materials, and completion records.
  • Ensure design integrity from order acknowledgement through to customer acceptance.
  • Support diverse site environments including mobile base stations, transmission hubs, data centres, and exchange facilities.
  • Maintain strong compliance with engineering standards, WHS requirements, and customer guidelines.
  • Contribute to reporting, forward planning, milestones, and alignment across customer systems.
  • Mentor, train, and support team members while contributing to the growth of Ventia Solutions.
What we’re looking for:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Telecommunications or IT preferred).
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications networks across Enterprise, Core, Access, and Mobile.
  • Knowledge of IP/MPLS networks, L3 routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF), and IPv4/IPv6.
  • Proficiency with design systems such as Helix, Spatial Web, VMR, Meerkat, Netconfig, and MNIS.
  • Excellent understanding of MPLS/IP networks, Layer 3 routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF), and IPv4/IPv6 addressing schemes.
  • Ability to produce highly detailed technical documentation and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP) are highly regarded.
