The Opportunity

We are seeking a Technical Principal Engineer - Flooding with 20+ years of experience in the design and delivery of Flooding and Drainage Design Discipline Studies for major road and rail infrastructure projects. You will also deliver on a broad range of Flood Studies, Floodplain Risk Management Studies, and Development Flood Impact Assessments.

This permanent role is based in our North Sydney office, offering the chance to lead complex projects and mentor a high-performing team.

As a senior technical leader, you will provide expert flooding advice, oversee design quality, and ensure compliance with Australian standards. You will play a key role in client engagement, project delivery, and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead flooding for major transport infrastructure projects.

  • Provide technical leadership and final review of design reports and documentation.

  • Manage project delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.

  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment and build trusted client relationships.

  • Contribute to winning new work and driving innovation across the business.

  • Demonstrate industry leading, expert level capability in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, including advanced application of TUFLOW.

About You

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.

  • 20+ years’ experience in flooding engineering for transport infrastructure.

  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects and meet client requirements.

  • Strong knowledge of Australian Road Standards and hydrology and hydraulic software.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
