Officina Gastronomica Italiana is a lively Italian bistro in the heart of Hawksburn Village, Prahran, embodying the spirit of authentic Italian food, wine, artisan coffee, and warm hospitality. Our neighborhood spot is all about quality, fun, and creating a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel right at home.

We’re looking for someone who can manage the high demand of our bustling cafe with expertise, positivity, and a true passion for Italian Food & Coffee culture in Melbourne.

ROLE:

A Cafe All Rounder is responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the cafe. The role requires versatility, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, has a passion for food and beverages, and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement service components
• greeting and salutation
• operate Ordermate
• running food and drinks
• food and drinks handling
• Implement sequence of service
• Opening and closing procedure

SKILLS & QUALIFICATION:

• Previous experience in cafes, restaurants or similar environment
• Ability to upsell and cross-sell by suggesting complementary items such as appetisers, side dishes, desserts, and beverages
• Barista Skills welcome
• Knowledge of Speciality Coffee and Italian Wines a bonus
• Promote specials and new items
• Work collaboratively and communicate with other staff members to ensure efficient cafe operations
• Have a valid RSA
