About the Position

We are excited to welcome a Family Support Practitioner to our Townsville Intensive Family Support team! This role provides an exciting opportunity to work comprehensively with families as a whole and with individual family members to overcome the challenges they are experiencing and achieve meaningful change. In this role, you will utilise evidence informed therapeutic interventions and be contributing directly to the improved wellbeing of children and families

  • Level 4 SCHCADS Award.
  • Salary range: $92,287 - $99,295 + Superannuation.
  • Full-time, Government funded contract until 31 December 2026 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Empower families to succeed by delivering intensive case management and tailored support that addresses complex needs and child protection concerns.
  • Create meaningful change by partnering with families to develop goals, build strengths and improve safety and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with key services to connect families with the supports they need and achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Make a lasting impact by strengthening family resilience, community connections and protective factors for children and young people.

About You

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (allied health, social work, human services) with professional registration (if required) and, a membership in a professional association (desirable).
  • Demonstrate at least two (2) years’ experience providing case-management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
  • Current driver’s licence.
