Description:
Job Requisition ID: 41327
Work in a live 24/7 Security Operations Centre environment.
Start your career with structure, support and work that actually matters.
Learn from cyber specialists invested in your growth from day one.
You'll monitor real cyber threats as they happen, helping protect enterprise environments from phishing, malware, ransomware and other live incidents. Through our Graduate Program, you'll build hands-on experience in Cyber Operate, with structured training before stepping into night shift work that supports real-time cyber defence across Australia.
What will your typical day look like?
In this role, you'll spend your time monitoring alerts, triaging incidents and supporting response activity across client environments. You'll build practical capability in security operations by working on live incidents with support from experienced analysts, using the kinds of tools, workflows and escalation paths that make cyber defence work in the real world. More specifically, you'll:
Monitor and triage security alerts across enterprise client environments in real time.
Investigate phishing, identity theft, malware and ransomware incidents under analyst guidance.
Escalate higher-risk incidents and support Managed Detection and Response operations.
This role gives you direct exposure to the pace and complexity of live cyber defence, while helping you build technical judgement in a way few graduate roles can offer. With structured onboarding, real incidents and a fully remote model, you'll grow a cyber career that is hard to replicate anywhere else.
As well as learning in the flow of work, you'll also be part of our firm-wide Graduate Program. You'll have a permanent, full-time role from day one, with structured learning, real-world client work, and hands-on projects to build your career. You'll be supported by a dedicated buddy and coach, with flexible work options and wellbeing support as you grow.
About the team
Cyber Operate sits within Deloitte's Cyber practice in Technology & Transformation. The team delivers 24/7 cyber monitoring and incident response services to enterprise clients, including ASX200 organisations and large multinational companies. You'll help monitor alerts in real time, triage incidents, support escalation and contribute to response activity across multiple industries. Graduates begin with 6 -10 weeks of structured training during normal business hours, including time on day shift alongside experienced analysts before moving into the night shift roster.
Enough about us, let's talk about you.
You may have all or some of the following:
Curiosity and a genuine interest in learning
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Interest in cyber operations, threat detection, incident response and protecting organisations from cyber threats
Comfort asking questions and learning through feedback
Alignment with Deloitte's values and inclusive culture
You'll be studying towards or have completed a relevant degree, such as Cyber Security, Cyber Security (Networking), Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related disciplines
A foundational understanding of enterprise environments and basic security concepts such as the CIA triad and Active Directory concepts
Strong technical acumen and appetite for hands-on learning, including scripting experience such as Python
Adaptability, resilience and a curious, inquisitive mindset
Experience experimenting in personal lab environments
Participation in Capture the Flag competitions, Hack The Box activities or Cyber Security societies
Candidates must consent to obtain and maintain a police and/or government security clearance
Candidates must be willing and able to work a rotating night shift roster, including weekends and public holidays
Graduate Program details
Start date: March 2027
Program type: Full-time, permanent
Location: National opportunities available across Australia (fully remote)
Eligibility: Final-year students or recent graduates (within two years)
Australian Citizenship is required
