About the Opportunity

An established, community-focused early learning centre in Melbourne's eastern suburbs is seeking an experienced, motivated and passionate Centre Director to join our leadership team.

We are looking for a confident, proactive and hands-on leader who is passionate about early childhood education, team development and delivering exceptional outcomes for children and families.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early childhood professional who enjoys taking ownership, building a positive team culture and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a team of early childhood educators.
• Oversee daily centre operations, staffing, rosters and regulatory compliance.
• Build a positive, respectful, professional and accountable team culture.
• Manage recruitment, induction, staff performance and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), National Law and Regulations, and Child Safe Standards.
• Maintain high standards of child safety, supervision, documentation and risk management.
• Work collaboratively with the Educational Leader to deliver high-quality educational programs.
• Build strong relationships with children, families and the local community.
• Manage enrolment enquiries, centre tours, orientation and family engagement.
• Develop strategies to improve occupancy, enrolments and family retention.
• Lead the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with the Approved Provider to achieve operational, educational and business objectives.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in an early childhood education and care setting.
• Previous experience as a Centre Director or Assistant Director will be highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of the NQF, NQS and Victorian regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Proven ability to manage staff performance, resolve workplace challenges and develop a supportive team.
• Experience in enrolment management, occupancy improvement and family engagement.
• A current Victorian Working with Children Check.
• Relevant First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, or willingness to obtain them.
• A genuine commitment to child safety, quality education and continuous improvement.
