About the Opportunity

Parkes Shire Council is looking for a Multi Skilled Specialist Plant Operator in the Operations team.

Based at Council's Parkes Depot and working as part of a small, multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for performing duties associated with operating a variety of plant machinery for road construction and maintenance activities. This is a hands-on role where you will work across different projects, ensuring that the machinery and equipment are operated safely, efficiently and in accordance with Council policies and procedures.

The successful applicant requires strong communication and teamwork skills and will have the opportunity to work throughout the Shire. The role will allow you a level of autonomy, however day to day directions will be provided by the Works Supervisors.

About You

The successful applicant requires strong communication and teamwork skills. To be successful in this position you will need:

A minimum Heavy Combination (HC) Licence
SafeWork NSW Construction induction (White Card)
Demonstrated experience in operation of mobile plant in a similar or relevant industry
Certificate III in Civil Construction

It will be highly favorable if you possess any of the following:

Traffic Control Qualifications: Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control plans
Plant Operation certificates
Current First Aid Certificate

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Parkes Shire Council's policies and conditions of employment.

The role has been evaluated as being Grade 7 of the Council's salary structure with a commencing salary of $61,885.20 ($31.32 to $36.02 per hour). The commencing salary to be determined upon the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful candidates.
