An opportunity has presented itself for a Trainee Locomotive Driver to join our team in Port Augusta.

What You’ll Do

Undertake a structured traineeship to become a Qualified Locomotive Driver through practical and theoretical training.

Reporting to the Terminal Supervisor, you will:

• Undertake a three-stage traineeship program combining classroom and practical learning
• Learn to prepare, manage and operate locomotives and trains safely in a live rail environment
• Complete competency-based assessments and on and off the job training
• Follow operational procedures to support safe and efficient train operations

What You’ll Bring

• A high regard for safety
• Ability to work effectively in a team and strong communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Flexibility to work rotating 24/7 shifts including nights, weekends and work away from home
• Current “C” class driver’s licence and School Certificate or equivalent
• Willingness to learn and commitment to personal development
