Your Role

There is no typical working week at Flybuys. But here are some of the things you will be working on, day-to-day;

  • Work with Product and delivery teams to understand user needs, business requirements and the problem to be solved.
  • Use available customer insights, analytics and existing research to inform design decisions.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs for web and app experiences.
  • Apply the design system, brand guidance and accessibility standards to produce clear, consistent and practical solutions.
  • Prepare designs and specifications that help Engineering understand and build the intended experience.
  • Support usability testing and other validation activities to check that proposed designs meet user needs.
  • Use feedback, research findings and performance data to improve designs through iteration.
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Delivery and business stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Present design work clearly, respond constructively to feedback and explain the reasoning behind design choices.
  • Support implementation by reviewing delivered experiences and identifying issues or refinements.

Your Experience

  • Relevant qualification in design, human-computer interaction or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in UX, product design or UX/UI design within a digital environment.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates user-centred design thinking and practical design outcomes across web or app experiences.
  • Experience creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.
  • Working knowledge of usability testing, responsive design, accessibility and design systems.
  • Proficiency in Figma or a comparable design and prototyping tool.
  • User focus: understands user needs and applies them to straightforward design solutions.
  • Problem solving: considers evidence, constraints and feedback when working through design problems.
  • Collaboration: works well with designers, product managers, engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Communication: presents work clearly, listens to feedback and explains design choices.
  • Organisation: manages assigned work, meets agreed timeframes and raises issues early.
  • Curious and willing to learn.
  • Open to feedback and comfortable iterating work.
  • Practical, dependable and attentive to detail.
  • Collaborative and considerate of customer and business needs.
