SA Sunshine Painting, based in Findon, SA are in painting business, and they can handle any painting project effortlessly. They do all commercial and residential painting works. Currently there is a vacancy for a skilled and experience painter to join their business. This is a full-time position.

Main Tasks:

• Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate as well as protect interior or exterior surfaces.
• Read blueprints/instructions and examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
• Read work order or receive instructions from supervisor/homeowner regarding painting.
• Performed surface preparation including sanding, patching, and priming and additionally remove old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch to prepare surfaces for painting.
• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
• Fill nail holes, cracks and joints with appropriate material caulk, putty, plaster.
• Select premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil for required colour.
• Apply paint according to instructions with various tools like brushes, spray equipment and paint rollers.
• Ensured high-quality finishes while meeting project deadlines.
• Remove fixtures, like pictures, electric switch covers, from walls prior to painting, using screwdriver.
• Follow WHS safety regulations and maintained a safe work environment.
• Spread drop cloths over floors as well as room furnishings, and also cover surfaces, like baseboards, door frames and windows to protect surfaces during painting.
• Create special effects like wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects by applying paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers.
• Wash surfaces prior to painting with mildew remover, using brush.
• Apply wallpaper fabrics.
• Mix and match paint colors according to client specifications.
• Thinning drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colours.
• Estimating costs involved and negotiating prices.
• Maintained tools and equipment in good working condition.

Requirements:

• AQF Certificate III relevant qualifications with two years’ experience or Certificate IV.
• Relevant experience and skillset to perform aforementioned duties.
• At least 1 year experience in a domestic painting role in the painting and decorating industry.
• Must have construction induction card.
• Good understanding of colour theory and various finish types.

Salary - $80,000 - $85,000 plus super
