PAINT4THOUGHT PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our team on a full-time basis.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out painting and decorating work across residential and commercial projects. This role requires a strong focus on quality, attention to detail, workplace safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, and repairing imperfections.
  • Select and prepare paints, stains, varnishes, and other coating materials.
  • Apply paint and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Measure and mix paints and other coating materials to achieve the required colors and consistency.
  • Apply primers, sealers, undercoats, and finishing coats to various surfaces.
  • Protect surrounding surfaces, fixtures, and furnishings from paint and coating materials.
  • Perform decorative and finishing work as required.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure a high-quality and consistent finish.
  • Clean and maintain painting tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Work efficiently to meet project deadlines and client requirements.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant experience as a Painting Trades Worker or in a similar painting role.
  • Sound knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and coating applications.
  • Ability to work with different types of paints, finishes, and application equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience will be highly regarded.
