## Structural Engineer
## Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of a diverse range of construction and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a commitment to structural integrity, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. This role suits an experienced engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering safe, innovative, and cost-effective structural solutions.
## Key Responsibilities
- Analyse structural systems for both static and dynamic loading conditions, ensuring all designs meet relevant Australian standards and codes of practice
- Determine appropriate construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and develop detailed specifications, drawings, and construction procedures to guide project delivery
- Design structures across a range of typologies to ensure they perform safely and do not collapse, deflect excessively, or behave in any undesirable manner under load
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, reports, and documentation in support of development approvals, construction certificates, and project handover
- Conduct site inspections and supervise construction activities to verify works are being carried out in accordance with approved designs and specifications
- Assess and evaluate the behaviour and durability of construction materials, recommending suitable options based on project requirements and site conditions
- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop integrated structural solutions from concept through to completion
- Identify and manage structural risks throughout the project lifecycle, providing practical engineering solutions to resolve design and construction challenges
- Prepare and review structural calculations, geotechnical reports, and material testing data to inform and validate design decisions
- Contribute to the mentoring and technical development of graduate and junior engineers within the team
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
## Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the relevant Australian state or territory
- Demonstrated experience in structural engineering design across commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in structural analysis and modelling software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SPACE GASS, Strand7, or similar
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC)
- Strong ability to prepare, interpret, and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver practical and innovative structural solutions
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Full working rights in Australia
## Preferred Qualifications
- Membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust) or Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or working towards chartership
- Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) platforms such as Revit Structure
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and experience delivering projects with a focus on environmental performance
- Postgraduate qualifications or specialist training in structural or geotechnical engineering
- Experience working on mixed-use, high-rise, or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Exposure to project management frameworks and familiarity with construction contract administration
## Why Join Us?
- Work on a varied and challenging portfolio of projects spanning commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors, with genuine opportunities to advance your career
- Flexible working arrangements available, including hybrid options, to support a healthy work-life balance
- Ongoing investment in your professional development, including support for CPEng chartership, training programmes, and industry memberships
- Be part of a collaborative, inclusive team culture that values innovation, technical excellence, and mutual respect
- Competitive remuneration package with annual salary reviews and access to performance-based incentives
