Full job description

Swirl & Stacks is Hobart’s brand-new ultimate destination for self-serve frozen yoghurt, epic stacked sandwiches, next-level loaded fries, and specialty drinks/shakes. But more than just great food, we are all about building a community. We want Swirl & Stacks to be the ultimate hub where locals come to hang out, catch up, and catch good vibes.

We are building our founding team from scratch, and we need energetic, passionate legends to help us set the tone from day one!

The Roles We Are Filling:

1. Front of House (FOH) Team Members

Perfect for students and young people

The Vibe: Cheerful, enthusiastic, and genuinely customer-obsessed. You aren't just taking orders—you are selling the vibe, greeting the regulars, and making everyone feel welcome.

The Job: Keeping the self-serve froyo and topping stations pristine, crafting beautiful milkshakes and specialty drinks, managing the POS, and keeping our hangout space clean and welcoming.

Requirements: Must be mature, responsible, and comfortable working unsupervised.

2. Cook / Chef (Part-Time / Casual)

The Job: Running the savory side of things! You’ll be responsible for prepping and building our signature stacked sandwiches, frying up epic loaded fries, managing kitchen inventory, and ensuring food flies out fast and looking beautiful during the rush hour.

Requirements: Prior experience in a fast-casual kitchen, cafe, or quick-service restaurant is essential. You need to be fast, organized, and hold high food safety standards.

3. Kitchen Hand

The Job: The engine room of our kitchen! Assisting the chef with sandwich prep and fry prep, chopping toppings, washing dishes, and making sure the back-of-house stays organized, stocked, and compliant.

Requirements: Prior hospitality experience is highly regarded. You’re a team player who handles a fast-paced environment with a smile.

General Requirements:

Experience: For chef and kitchen hand roles, prior industry experience is a must. For FOH, a stellar, positive attitude and community-first mindset matter most!

Availability: Flexibility to work a mix of weekdays, weekends, and school holidays/evenings.

The Vibe Check: Punctual, reliable, and excited to help build a brand-new local community hub.

What’s In It For You?

Staff Discounts: Yes, that means plenty of froyo, stacked sandwiches, loaded fries, and shakes!

Ultimate Flexibility: We offer flexible rostering to easily fit around your study, life, and other commitments.

A Fresh Start: No old drama, no stale routines. You get to help shape the culture of Hobart's newest hotspot from day one.

Epic Culture: Work in a bright, loud, fun, and energetic environment right in the heart of the CBD.

How to Apply:

If you’re ready to join the Swirl & Stacks family and help us build Hobart's next favorite hangout, we want to hear from you!

Drop your resume off in person at 127 Liverpool St, Hobart, or email your resume and a quick blurb about your favorite hangout spot to Info@swirlandstacks.com.au with the subject line "Application: [Role You Want] - [Your Name]".
