Description:
Join Our School Catering Team

Pay Rate: $26.44 per hour + Super
Roster: Monday to Friday during term time, 8:00am - 2:30pm (with optional additional function activities)

Join Gather by Cater Care as a Part-Time Catering Assistant, supporting the busy kitchen team at one of our education sites.

This hands-on hospitality role involves assisting our chefs with the preparation and service of fresh, high-quality meals for boarding students throughout the school term. We are looking for someone who is friendly, approachable, and confident engaging with high school students, creating a positive and welcoming dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation, meal service, and buffet setup and pack down
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students and staff
  • Operate point-of-sale systems, process transactions, and manage stock supplies
  • Maintain clean, safe, and well-presented kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing duties
  • Follow strict food hygiene and safety standards at all times
Skills and Experiences:
About You

  • Previous catering or hospitality experience with a friendly and confident approach to customer service
  • Reliable, approachable, and team-focused, with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Confident in engaging with customers, including high school students, and creating a positive dining experience
  • Current driver’s licence and own vehicle required
  • Successful candidates required to complete a Working With Children Check
