About Us

The WWP Café is a professional café and catering venue dedicated to serving company staff

and corporate teams. We provide fresh, high-quality breakfast, lunch, and catering services

in a welcoming and efficient environment.

We specialise in catering for functions of all sizes — from small meetings of 10 people to

large-scale events catering for up to 700 guests. In addition, we offer fine dining experiences

tailored to corporate functions and special occasions, delivering exceptional food and

professional service in a unique setting.

The Opportunity

The WWP Café is seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated full-time Cook to join

our kitchen team on a permanent basis. Working a minimum of 38 hours per week, you will

work closely with the manager to oversee all day-to-day kitchen operations, from

preparation through to service.

If you are a skilled culinary professional who thrives in a busy dining and catering

environment and wants to be part of an exciting venue, we want to hear from you.

What We Offer

 Work/Life Balance: A fantastic work environment with hours that support an

excellent work/life balance.

 Job Security: Stable, permanent full-time employment.

 Great Culture: A happy, collaborative, and vibrant team environment.

Main Duties

  • Examining ingredients and foodstuffs to ensure freshness, quality, and

consistency.

  • Regulating the temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Portioning food accurately, plating dishes, and applying sauces, gravies, and

garnishes to presentation standards.

  • Preparing meals to accommodate dietary requirements, allergies, and special

requests.

  • Ensuring food is stored, handled, and prepared in accordance with food safety and

hygiene regulations.

  • Assisting with menu planning, food preparation schedules, and estimating

ingredient requirements.

  • Monitoring stock levels, rotating stock, and assisting with ordering supplies and

ingredients.

  • Minimising food wastage while maintaining quality and portion control standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment, and

storage areas.

  • Working efficiently during busy breakfast, lunch, and catering service periods.
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of corporate catering and large-scale

functions.

  • Collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth daily

operations.

  • Training, supervising, and providing guidance to apprentices and junior kitchen

staff where required.

  • Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Contributing new ideas for menu items, seasonal dishes, and catering options.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you must meet the skill level requirements for Australia

(ANZSCO Skill Level 3):

 An AQF Certificate III (including at least 2 years of on-the-job training) or an AQF

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.

 Alternatively, at least three years of relevant, verifiable experience as a Cook may

substitute for formal qualifications.

 Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety standards, and temperature

control.

 Excellent time-management skills with the ability to handle a fast-paced breakfast

and lunch service.

 A passion for culinary excellence (experience or interest in baking/pastry is highly

regarded).

 Experience in preparing and coordinating catering services for corporate events and

large functions.

 Ability to manage catering orders, food preparation, and service for events ranging

from small meetings to large-scale functions.

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
